West Virginia’s Putnam County Uses CUES Equipment to Aid Sewer System Challenges
The Putnam Public Service District is nestled against the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia’s Putnam County.
Their 5,800 manholes, the oldest of which date to the 1970s, are a mix of concrete, brick and cinderblock. Those materials are prone to corrosion from sulfuric acid excreted by bacteria that “eat” hydrogen sulfide.
Part of their equipment fleet includes a CUES sewer cam, which has helped PPSD with their manhole rehab program.
