GraniteNet WebSync: Easily transmit CCTV inspections from the field to the Office/Cloud via the Web.
GraniteNet WebSync is one of three “Web” products offered by CUES to streamline utility operations to enable real time, task-oriented workflows for greater efficiency and productivity between CCTV field inspection crews and HQ.
- WebSync uses internet or wireless connectivity to transmit bidirectionally.
- Data exchange happens quickly so that QA/QC reviewers in the Office do not have to wait for inspectors to physically return to the office.
- WebSync can be set to transmit inspection data only (in small file sizes) and skip sending media files if they are not required daily.
- Administrators can set up specific WebSync filters to send certain types of inspections or media to specific people -or computers- to streamline the information dissemination.
GraniteNet WebSync is a powerful connectivity tool that enables entities with vehicular field crews to use encrypted internet connectivity to automatically transmit inspection data and video from the field (such as trucks, mobile inspectors, etc.) wirelessly to the Cloud SAAS. There’s no need for carrying storage drives. Inspectors simply finish their inspection and the transfer will begin automatically in the background while new inspections are started or while crews move to the next location.
Unlike some inferior methods use by others, WebSync is unique in that it truly synchronizes data instead of merely making a copy of a file at a location such as Drop Box or Google Docs - which requires a manual two-step process susceptible to human error. Whether synchronizing out new, incomplete inspection tasks to the field trucks from WebOffice or synchronizing in data from the field to the Cloud, WebSync happens at the database level to ensure precise, up-to-the-minute statuses that do not require human intervention. Additionally with growing cyber threats, many organizations can no longer afford to risk intrusions that can happen when portable media devices are connected to the network. WebSync is highly secure because it uses Web API’s that provide Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security that are encrypted. Data exchange happens quickly so that QA/QC reviewers do not have to wait for inspectors to physically return with storage drives.
Losing data is virtually impossible because WebSync sessions will transmit data and log the results for verification of successful receipt. If data transmission is interrupted due to connectivity issues, WebSync will re-initiate its session from where it left off and resume the transfer from that point when a suitable connection is obtained. If a session can’t be completed, the log file will display the result and the inspection information and media will remain on the sender’s computer until it can be re-tried, when better connectivity is available.
WebSync can be set to transmit inspection data only (in small file sizes) and skip sending media files if they are not required daily. For example, some users will synchronize inspection information throughout the day but choose to synchronize the video media at the end of the week, perhaps when the users/vehicles are back in the yard with access to the network.
Administrators can set up specific WebSync filters to send certain types of inspections or media to specific people -or computers- to streamline the information dissemination. For example, WebSync sessions can be set to send inspection tasks to “Crew 1” while completely different inspection tasks can be sent to “Crew 4”. The reverse is also possible so that Crew 4 will synchronize its data to a network file named as “Crew 4”. Distributing individual assignments amongst multiple crews is very simple using WebSync. GraniteNet WebSync requires a software module on the field units and requires the H.264 Module (both purchased separately if needed).
