How to collect the XYZ 3D positions for As-Built purposes of a large diameter (52 in. steel) HDD that was over 2050 ft. in length and reached depths of greater than 93 ft., while underwater.
SOLUTION
PIPC / CUES – Utilized the Accurate Mapping Probe (Gyroscopic Based Mapping Probe) to obtain the XYZ 3D positions for As-Built creation.
The project involved the assembly of the largest centralizing wheel set cable of an ID of 58 in. while the AMP was affixed into the center of the wheel set. Motorized reels were utilized to advance the AMP back and forth from the known HDD endpoints.
All positional data was confirmed on-site and the deliverables (AutoCAD Plan and Profile) was submitted to the client within (2) days.
