Any QZ3 Basic/Advanced Models Already Running SW V3.00 and above:
- First we will need to install the “Bridge Update”, this will allow the QZ3 to accept the latest software version. Download qz3_410-00027_update_v12_bridge.zip (133 MB) onto a blank fat32 format thumb drive and save it to the root of the thumb drive (this can be done by removing everything in the location bar except the drive letter and the colon). Do NOT unzip this file.
- Once this is done, you can upgrade your QZ3 inserting the thumb drive into the USB port at the rear of the camera. With the camera on, and a wireless enabled device connected to it, use the web browser to navigate to 192.168.8.1.
- Expand the menu at the top left corner and select the Settings tab (also labeled Diagnostics or System Info on older units).
- On the System Information page will be a button labeled “Install Update” to upgrade the software (older units will have to scroll to the very bottom of the page to find the button), select this and wait 3 minutes for upgrade to deploy (set a timer to determine when 3 minutes have elapsed). The QZ3 will restart once the upgrade is complete. Do not power off during the upgrade process.
- Once the update has run its 3 minute duration, power cycle the unit.
- Reconnect to the QZ3 Wi-Fi network, and use the web browser to navigate back to 192.168.8.1.
- Navigate back to the Settings page and confirm the version now installed has “-dirty” in the version name. This confirms a successful installation of the bridge update.
- Download the latest software update file below onto a blank thumb drive and save it to the root of the thumb drive (this can be done by removing everything in the location bar except the drive letter and the colon). Do NOT unzip this file.
- Once this is done, Repeat steps 3-6 to install the latest update file.
- After waiting the 3 minutes to install the update and power cycling the unit, it is now necessary to clear the cache/history on the tablet/control device browser. Under the browser settings, this is typically found under the privacy settings. Make sure to clear cache/history from all time.
